Experts say number of DDoS attacks to rise 20% in 2021 in Russia
MOSCOW, Mar 30 (PRIME) -- The number of DDoS attacks in Russia will rise by at least 20% in 2021 in comparison to the previous year, cybersecurity company StormWall said on Tuesday in a research.
The trend will be provoked by new factors, including a surge in new cybercriminals among students studying at home during the pandemic, higher criticality of Internet services because many employees work remotely, as the majority of companies continue to develop online business actively.
StormWall also said that new powerful tools appeared on the Internet in early 2021 to organize DDoS attacks available for many consumers, like access to an attack at 400 Gbit/s via messenger Telegram. Several minutes of such an attack can not only harm a victim, but also several Internet providers, leaving thousands of users and online resources without the Internet.
